Love This Time, written and directed by Rhys Graham and produced by Toby Patten and Daybreak Films, has been awarded the Special Mention from the international jury of the Berlinale 2006, one of the world’s pre-eminent film festivals.

Jury members Jung-Wan Oh (Korea), Mariela Besuievsky (Spain) and Florian Gallenberger (Germany) awarded the prize declaring:

“The beautiful camerawork, the outstanding acting of the children and the powerful story of ‘Love This Time’ create strong emotions and make us  understand what love, trust and loyalty mean to a child in a difficult life situation.”

The screening at the Berlinale marked the world premiere of LOVE THIS TIME.

The 18 minute film, shot on 35mm, marked a significant collaboration between Rhys Graham, AFI award winning cinematographer Greig Fraser (‘Jewboy’), production and costume designer Jodie Fried (‘Candy’, ‘Romulus, My Father’) and composer Patrick Robertson (of the band ‘Motorace’).

Rhys Graham and Natasha Gadd of Daybreak Films are currently in production on Words from the City, a feature documentary about the cultural and political impact of hip hop in Australia produced by Philippa Campey through Film Camp and distributed by Madman Entertainment.
