Andrea Distefano

Producer

Andrea Distefano is a Melbourne based producer of film and television. Andrea studied a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts at Deakin University before transferring to Swinburne University in 2005 where she completed a Bachelor of Film and Television. In her final year, Andrea produced the short film, ‘The Interminable Suffering of Mr Wu’, which won the Richard Franklin Memorial Award for Best Graduate Film of 2008. Later that year, Andrea commenced work as Associate Producer on the feature film adaptation of cult musical classic Bran Nue Dae. She has since produced a number of music videos for artists including The Audreys and Angie Hart among other projects. Andrea joined Daybreak Films as Post Production Supervisor on the feature documentary ‘murundak – songs of freedom’ featuring The Black Arm Band, and then produced 16 short documentaries and numerous installation works for the Museo Italiano project. Andrea now produces full time for Daybreak Films, handling a range of documentary, cultural and narrative projects.
